The Helmcken Family Tomb Stone

There are words engraved on the top of the Helmcken tomb, but years of weathering has rendered it virtually unreadable. But in 1936, the B.C. Historical Association added a new stone in front of the tomb in memory of the historic family. It reads:

In Memory Of
J. S. Helmcken, Mr. C.S.L.S.A
Born in London, England, June 5, 1824
Died in Victoria, Sept. 1st, 1920
and of His Wife Cecilia
and of Their Children
Douglas Claude Margaret Jane
and Cecil Roderick
