GOLDSTREAM MEDITATIONS mix the soundscape from British Columbia's Goldstream Provinical Park, the setting of many of Emily Carr's more transcendental paintings, with "musical mantras". All three pieces are made from the three note motive known from the ancient Chinese as the "Harmony of Heaven and Earth".

RICHARD PAYNE is a Pacific Rim composer whose music, which draws from both folk and classical traditions, has been performed in North America, Europe and Asia. His compositions include symphonic, choral, chamber and theatrical works as well as scores for television, film and radio. A California native, Richard and his family now divide their time between Victoria and Tokyo.
