Voters for Esquimalt and Metchosin attended at Craigflower Farm to vote on July 21 at 11:00, 1863. Only gentlemen owning or renting land could vote in this election. They were electing two men to represent them in British Columbia parliament.

Perhaps, the electioneers enjoyed themselves in the Craigflower Parlour while waiting for the election results. They could smoke their clay pipes, admire the McKenzie girl's Paintings.

The McKenzie's good friend Dr. Helmcken might visit to discuss politics and BC's confederation.
