The Earth travels once a year in a huge circle around the sun.

When the Norman Morison and the Craigflower settlers left for Victoria, people already knew that the earth was round.

The earth takes a year to orbit the sun. It takes the moon a month to orbit the Earth.

The earth is like a big wheel with an axle ( or axis) running from the North Pole to the South Pole.

The earth spins in one direction: eastward.

It is the earth's rotation that gives us night and day.

Question: Does your house face north, south, east, or west? How can you tell?
