maskIn 1850, the Kosapsom First Nations signed the Douglas Treaties selling land which included most of present day Esquimalt.
maskJames Douglas of the Hudson's Bay Company purchased the land for blankets and other goods.
mask This agreement did not include fisheries, village sites, or fields.
mask Descendants of the Kosapsom First Nations continue to reside in the Esquimalt area.
