Caleb came to Fort Victoria with his brothers, William and Jonas, on the first voyage of the Norman Morison to the Pacific Coast of North America in 1850. Caleb ran three farms during his life: Yew Tree Farm, Pike's Place Farm, and "old Pears place, Wilkinson road".
